The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has completed the FY22 H-1B application through a lottery. Selected petitioners can start submitting applications from April 1, 2021.

Applications have been selected for general and advanced degrees. U.S.C.I.S said: We have notified all prospective petitioners with selected registrations that they are eligible to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the beneficiary named in the applicable selected registration,”

The United States issues 85,000 H-1B visas each year. Indians and Indian IT companies are among the biggest beneficiaries of the United States.

The Immigration Bureau did not disclose the number of petitions received. However, the number of registrations each year exceeds the total number of visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Last year, the Immigration Bureau received nearly 267,000 registrations, of which more than 60% came from India.

In this case, US Citizenship and Immigration Services uses a random selection process to select candidates. However, in the later stages of COVID-19, the Immigration Bureau had to conduct another lottery in 2020, the first time in 30 years, because it did not get enough applications to fill the annual quota of 85,000 visas.
