Andrew Lee Younkins, J.D., B.A., is a 2009 graduate cum laude of the University of San Francisco School of Law, licensed to practice law in California. During law school, Andrew published a Comment in the U.S.F. Law Review on the Employee Free Choice Act and mandatory contract arbitration. He also won the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in Employment Law, receiving the highest grade in his Employment Law section. Andrew graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, in 2005, with a Bachelor of Arts. At Hampshire, Andrew completed a thesis entitled “Lacan avec Pierce: A Semiotic Approach to Lacanian Psychoanalysis.”
Andrew has experience working in a variety of public-interest-related fields. Before coming to the Bay Area, Andrew worked with the Freedom Center in Northampton, MA, a group that fights for the rights of individuals labeled with mental health diagnoses. During law school, Andrew took a variety of public interest positions, including working in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals staff attorney’s office, which allowed him to present immigration appeals to a panel of federal court judges.
When not fighting to protect the rights of working people, Andrew enjoys doing and occasionally teaching yoga. Andrew’s main hobby is baseball, including rooting for the Boston Red Sox and Fantasy Baseball. Andrew also studies chess and enjoys playing chess whenever he can get a good game.
